Leah Rupp Smith is General Counsel and Vice President for Policy and Advocacy at the Mississippi Hospital Association. Prior to joining the Association, Smith served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann. She previously served as Assistant Secretary of State at the Secretary of State's Office, clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and worked as a labor and employment attorney at a regional law firm. She also worked as a reporter for The Clarion-Ledger.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Smith earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism from Miami University of Ohio and Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville.

Smith lives in Fondren with her husband, Solon, and their two dogs, Tucker and Luna. They are members of Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson.
