WORKERS' COMPENSATION

George Roberson, Administrator

The Mississippi State Agencies Self-Insured Workers' Compensation Trust provides workers' compensation coverage for the more than 32,000 employees of the approximately 100 state agencies, boards, and commissions participating in the pool. The Trust acts as a workers’ compensation self-insurance group pool, governed by an elected Board of Trustees and under the provisions of MS Code Ann. § 71-3-75.   By pooling resources, member organizations can provide participating state agencies, boards, and commissions with affordable workers’ compensation insurance for their employees.

The Trust utilizes Cannon Cochran Management Services, Inc., CCMSI, to administer the insurance pool. CCMSI manages all aspects of the program, including first report of injury, full documentation and management of the claim, all medical and legal engagements, recommended settlements, and a safety/loss control program.  The Workers’ Compensation Administrator within DFA oversees the TPA relationship and claim settlement process.
