David Russell

David is President of McGowan Working Partners, Inc., an oil and gas operating company with operations in 5 states. He has worked in the oil and gas business for over 40 years and has been with McGowan since 1981. David is very active in oil and gas professional associations and is currently a board member of the Louisiana Oil; Gas Association (LOGA), board member and past Chairman of the Mississippi/Alabama Oil and Gas Association, member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), prior board member of the Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen (MAPL), and board member and past President of Wildcat Insurance Company, a 50 member oil and gas captive insurance company. David obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Geology, both from Millsaps College. He is also a Registered Professional Geologist.

David has volunteered with many organizations, including serving as board member and past President of the River Hills Club, board member and past President of Magnolia Cutting Horse Association, member of the vestry at St. James Episcopal Church, Chairman of the St. James Youth Advisory Board, board member of the McClean Fletcher Center, and board member of Young Life - Urban/Inner City of Jackson. He also spent many years coaching youth football, soccer, and basketball, and teaching Sunday School. David and his wife of 40 years, Cathey Bass Russell, have 3 children: Missy, David, and Stephen.
