The LESO program was started to provide Law Enforcement Agencies with excess Military property to help aid in their mission. The LESO program in the State of Mississippi is administered through the Mississippi Office of Surplus Property (MOSP) and overseen by the State Coordinator. The State of Mississippi charges a nominal fee for all property transferred through the program.

In order to participate in Mississippi you must be a Law Enforcement Agency whose primary function is

  • The enforcement of applicable federal, state and local laws
  • Have at least one full time compensated officer with the powers to arrest and apprehend
  • Have a valid originating agency identifier (ORI) number
  • Complete and submit the LESO Application & State Plan of Operation
  • Set-up an account/application with MOSP
